Luxe on Burgundy

Perfect accommodation for a girls weekend away, within walking distance of the Square. Great communication from the host Positive: Great location with all the amenities, super comfy beds and bedding, great communication.

This is the Life! Positive: This is a completely gorgeous place to stay. Easy to keep clean. Very quiet neighborhood. New house smell. Well appointed with everything you might need. Warm, beautifully furnished. Tastefully decorated. Comfy beds. The Spa was fabulous. Loads of jets and set at 40 degrees :) Everything worked & is spotlessly clean. There are some herbs in the garden. A nice selection of tea, coffee, coffee pods and some milk. Sugar, oil, salt and pepper were also provided. Lots of hot water, good water pressure, plenty of towels, extra pillows and bedding. The separate toilet is handy. There's a bath. Lots of sunny decks and comfy outdoor furniture. Sun poured in all day because it faces west. It was a treat just lying on the bed in the afternoon soaking up the sun and snoozing. The house is long - the kitchen & lounge are at one end & the 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom are along the hallway, with the master bedroom (with ensuite and walk in wardrobe!) right at the end. So there's privacy, space, peace and separation - even if you had a few people there. 3 of the bedrooms open onto the decks. This would be a great spot for 2 or 3 couples. And the "lesser" rooms are still really nice and a good size. It's fully fenced - if you had small children. It's not far from the town centre but off the beaten track - so it was very quiet. I didn't see the communal pool or tennis courts - but this seems to be on a sort of estate / community grounds - called Pinot Grove. The host was well organized. I got emails at just the right times & quick responses. Make sure you check out Poppies vineyard while you're in Martinborough for a next level treat too! Negative: It was surprising there aren't any electric blankets on the beds and it was -1 degrees at night! (The house is warm though & the heat pump does it's job - but it's noisy to leave it on all night) There's no plunger coffee pot. It's quite a small fridge if you had a large group staying. (Fine for the 2 of us) And limited pots, small frying pan - if you had a big group to cook for. (There's a nice big Weber BBQ outside tho) It's quite close to the neighbors & the windows are huge and not all of them have blinds - so you might feel a bit like you're in a fish bowl at times. There's lots of subscribed services on the TV but the sound is terrible - very tinny. Maybe bring your own Bluetooth speaker? But these are minor things - this is an absolutely beautiful place to stay, and I feel so lucky to have had a relaxing, peaceful, easy weekend away. And the spa!!! Did I mention the spa??!! Just go!

Spacious, clean, comfortable property in a great location Positive: Great location, roomy and comfortable, beautiful spa pool and very comfy beds. Negative: We couldn’t find the coffee plunger, but luckily there was a coffee pod machine as well :)
